Scratch is a visual programming language. This means that you're able to code complex applications without as much as writing a single word of text. That also makes it ideal to teach kids with.If you try to teach your kids, say, C++, and start by explaining to them that "cin" means asking for the value of a variable... well, they're going to lose interest soon.
