There are some complications: a fully deterministic 4d+t universe with an allowable form of time travel; aliens who want all of us dead; two different FTL drives that turn out to be the same; and that most fictional of all things imaginable: competent Space Force commanders in the right place at the right time. Frames, in the words of a long dead 60s hippie, "is messed up, man", but if you know some math (and maybe some physics) it might make sense; if you've been in grad school, it might make sense; and if you've served? umm, well, umm: it's fiction, okay?
